And Life Goes On:An Abbas Kiarostami Retrospective
Alongside this year's Iranian Film Festival: New Films from Iran, AFI Silver is proud to partner with the Freer and Sackler, the National Gallery of Art and Janus Films to present a large-scale retrospective on the work of Iran's greatest filmmaker, Abbas Kiarostami (1940–2016). Spanning the master's entire career, the series includes many new 4K digital restorations and includes early documentaries and rare short films alongside the famous features Kiarostami made in the '80s and '90s, including the famed Koker Trilogy that led to his international renown, culminating in his 1997 Palme d'Or win for TASTE OF CHERRY.
Series made possible by Janus Films and mk2, with the invaluable contribution of Ahmad Kiarostami.
